Religion Project: Week 4

This is the forth week of my religion project. I am back to normal routine, after last weeks experience of being Amish. I have to admit that I have little to report and a lot left to do. This week has been all essay writing. I sorted through my notes and have just been writing and writing. This is the shortest amount of time that we’ve had for a project, so its been hard for me to get everything done.

I have little to report factually, because I’m writing my essay at the moment. I’ve read all of my notes and books and am just now formating it into an essay.  I just don’t have much new information that I am coming across. Though I have to say that I’ve had a lot of trouble with writing this essay. Not only is the time crunch not helping, but I just don’t really like writing this essay anymore.

I am going to be perfectly honest and say that I don’t think that I am dedicated enough to this project. The Amish way of life when first looked at seems fascinating, and makes you want to figure out why they do what they do. But, when it comes down to how they live their lives on a day to day basis, its just rather slow paced. Its hit and miss with this project. You can come across something really fascinating about the Amish, and just be enveloped in your research and writing. Or you can spend the whole period writing about working on the farm. I’m also finding myself getting a lot more easily distracted, which is extremely frustrating for me. I have a lot of work to do, and I need to really get serious about this project if I want to end with a successful result.

I still have a lot of work to do. My essay needs to be edited and I need to start putting together the documentary for my project. My goal is to be able to be finished up with my essay by tomorrow, but thats a long shot. I’ll probably be spending a good chunk of my weekend working on the video. Lots to do and so little time.
